How you can help support Emerald City Music this holiday season!

Dear friends,

This Fall season of concerts at Emerald City Music has been the most exciting yet!

Your year-end support this December ensures that we can continue to offer the highest caliber programming here in South Lake Union and Olympia. As a young nonprofit organization, we’re thrilled to have already shared so many memorable experiences this season, like the September world-premiere of John Luther Adams’ “...not even the wind...” (which was just released in full-length video) and the unforgettable Artist Spotlight with steel pannist Andy Akiho.

Excitement is spreading about Emerald City Music, and your support builds this from the ground floor. Though we're only a startup nonprofit organization, already we've heard praises this season from CityArts Magazine, New York's I CARE IF YOU LISTEN (.COM) and more:

"A concert with this set of performers would be hard-pressed not to awe the listener. Sandbox Percussion let loose like a bombshell of raw talent, while the rest continued to feed the atmosphere through individual gritty, groovy, insightful, light-hearted, and (insert and of numerous similar adulating adjectives) performances. Akiho’s compositional technique was on full display, and all aspects of that technique were presented flawlessly performer after performer, piece after piece." – I CARE IF YOU LISTEN

"A world premiere from John Luther Adams launches an impressive second season." – CITYARTS

"The enthusiastic sold-out audience bodes well for the rest of this season with its six concerts all of which include fresh and unexpected musical ideas." – THE SUNBREAK

Simply put, Emerald City Music is entirely powered by YOU – our enthusiastic and generous audience members. Your ongoing generosity is how we're able to present internationally renowned talent in Olympia and Seattle piece after piece; show after show.

This December, we're raising $50,000 to fund spring concerts and a host of new outreach activities, including partnerships with Cornish College, Amazon, and the Olympia School District (where we're bringing live music into South Sound classrooms).

There are a three ways you can help us continue to grow the incredible momentum behind Emerald City Music this season:

No amount is too small.  Donations range from $10 to over $10,000, and it all helps support this meaningful cause. If everyone reading donated just $50, the campaign would be over!

Emerald City Music also accepts gifts of stock and bonds, as well as in-kind contributions. Contract Andrew Goldstein, Executive Director, to learn more!

You can help Emerald City Music's mission by creating a small fundraiser on Facebook! On November 28th (GIVING TUESDAY), Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching up to $1,000 per Facebook fundraiser, dollar for dollar (until they reach $2mil). That means that if you raise $500 on Facebook on November 28th, $1,000 goes toward our mission. Not sure how to create a fundraiser, or what to write? Here's some suggestions!

They're a young nonprofit that puts on dozens of young, fresh, and eclectic classical music shows in Seattle/Olympia. I was super impressed this season when they ______ (insert idea... like "scored a world-premiere by Grammy and Pulitzer winning composer John Luther Adams", or "did an entire concert around a steel pan composer"), and I myself am donating (or donated) to make sure they can continue their awesome work. Help me support this worthy cause! EVERY DOLLAR YOU GIVE IS MATCHED BY FACEBOOK & THE GATES FOUNDATION FOR A LIMITED TIME TODAY-ONLY!!

There's nothing more fun than going to concerts with people you care about! This holiday season, consider gifting Emerald City Music tickets to your family and friends. For shows with reserved seating, we'll help make sure your tickets are seated together!

Something magical is happening here.  With your support we will be able to continue to provide a unique music experience that touches hearts and minds.

From all of our staff, board, volunteers and musicians.... we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons, and sincerely thank you for your support this year! See you in 2018!
