n the midst of COVID-19, Emerald City Music remained active, reaching thousands of new listeners. Check out the many ways we brought chamber music offstage and in your community, from visiting retirement homes to teaching composition to public school students. Over the course of Fall 2020, we expanded our outreach efforts with over sixty virtual events, bringing classical music experiences to thousands throughout the Puget Sound region.
Composer Aaron Copland once stated,
Inspired by the resiliency of our community during the early days of the pandemic, Emerald City Music expanded our outreach efforts to bring uplifting and sustaining musical experience to as many community members as possible. Through dozens of partnerships with many of the region's artistic, social, and educational institutions, we used music as a tool to create hope, change, and transformation in the Pacific Northwest. Partnerships involved many of the region’s nonprofit institutions, including:
Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, Drexel House, Family Support Center, Interfaith Works, Tumwater School District, the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, Providence Medical Center of Everett, Mirabella Retirement, Skyline Retirement, Panorama Retirement, and Evergreen Treatment Services.
Our Fall 2020 brought over sixty classical music events to the communities of Seattle and Olympia during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
