About the Organization

Emerald City Music (ECM) was founded in 2015 to bring intimate, eclectic, vibrant chamber music experiences to the Pacific Northwest. Co-founder and Artistic Director Kristin Lee - an international touring violinist and Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient - curates a wide-ranging season of programs which foster a strong connection between artists and audiences. Season performances take place in Seattle and Olympia, WA, with special events in regional and national locations from Bellingham to New York City. Deemed ‘the beacon for the casual-classical movement’ (City Arts), ECM has welcomed over 350 artists from around the globe and established a passionate base of supporters with its blend of creative programming and artistic excellence.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Executive Director (ED) supports the artistic mission and vision as the chief administrative officer for Emerald City Music. The ED oversees staff management, retention, and support, and acts as the central public facing role at all public events. They support the board’s governance and fiduciary responsibilities on behalf of ECM. The ED’s work as the main development staff member includes designing, implementing, and monitoring efforts to maximize contributed income from a variety of sources. Through a deep understanding of finances and funding relationships, the ED prepares and analyzes budgets and cash analyses which empower prudent decisions about future programs and initiatives, prioritizing ECM’s sustainability over multiple seasons.
