DAEDALUS QUARTET

75-ec0ebdc059e03af69755522222201eb6.jpg

An up-close encounter with the Daedalus Quartet, winners of the 2001 Banff International String Quartet Competition and Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award. This unique storytelling performance incorporates Tolstoy’s Kreutzer Sonata and other texts, woven through composers' takes on the Kreutzer theme, and the composers’ relationship to the Tolstoy family.

The Tunes

Janácek: String Quartet No. 1, “Kreutzer Sonata”
Taneyev: Selection from String Quartet No. 2
Tchaikovsky: Andante Cantabile from String Quartet No. 1
Beethoven: Sonata Op. 47, “Kreutzer”
